Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering provides parents an opportunity to get to know teachers and friends, and to share talents and ideas in the overall operation of the school. SLC encourages parent involvement through a variety of opportunities:

Parent Committee

SLC's parent committee is currently comprised of 19 parent volunteers who oversee fundraising and special events for the school.  Meetings take place once a month during the school day.  Positions on the committee are related to community outreach, hospitality, fundraising events, and communications.

Governing Board

Members of the Governing Board help guide the school by overseeing its budget and policies.  Meetings take place once a month in the evening.  There are 13 positions on the Governing Board.

Room Parent

Room Parents play a vital role in our classrooms by providing support to teachers, building classroom community, and assisting with fundraisers.

Classroom

Parents are welcome to visit the classroom to read a book, share a special talent or tradition, or simply spend some time.
