Daily Routines
A typical day at SLC includes:
Free ChoiceThis is a segment of time when the children engage in self-directed play, while teachers facilitate learning. All areas of the room are accessible to the children during this time, including: table top activities, art, sensory table, dramatic play area, blocks, reading corner, writing center and the science table. |

Large Motor PlayChildren spend 30 minutes of every day in our Bike Room, our full-size gym or at Raymond Park. The age of the children and the weather determines where each class will go on a given day. |
Group TimeChildren may listen to or act out a story, sing, and have group discussions during this time. The length of Group Time varies according to what is developmentally appropriate for the age of the class. |

Snack
The school provides an allergen-free snack for all of the children and families take turns providing 100% juice or fresh fruit for the class.
Enrichment
Every week, children enrolled in the Threes and Pre-K classes receive 30 minutes of music with Jeanie B! or science with Merle Fippinger. The two year old classes receive music enrichment beginning in January.
